The Oculus team were commissioned to design a new mews house scheme in Highgate, London, where they had previously been involved in gaining consent for two large houses for a different developer client. The built scheme consisted three duplex houses converted out of an existing office wing and three smaller new houses. The curvilinear roofs of the three new houses, which are intended to be non-reflective zinc, have been creatively designed so as to mediate between the varying roof heights of existing properties.
The scheme won numerous awards when completed in 2007 including Camdens Best Residential Conversion of the year.
